What the law does
Utah SB 149 was the state's first generative-AI disclosure law. Regulated health occupations had to tell patients when generative AI was used in oral or electronic messaging. Later amendments in SB 226 narrowed when disclosure is required, and SB 332 extended the framework through July 1, 2027. The original Act took effect May 1, 2024.
