Welltory Secures Additional $2 Million in Growth Financing from Braavo to Expand Specialized Support for People With Chronic Conditions

The financing continues a long-term partnership between Welltory and Braavo Capital as both companies expand their focus on sustainable growth in the Health & Fitness app ecosystem.

[Redwood City, California, October 9, 2026] — Welltory, the consumer health app used by 18 million people worldwide, has secured up to $2 million in growth financing from longtime financing partner Braavo to expand Welltory Care, its new service for people living with chronic conditions.

The financing marks the latest stage in a long-term partnership between the two companies. Braavo has provided Welltory with multi-million-dollar growth financing over the course of the relationship, supporting the company as it has scaled its consumer health platform and expanded into new products and markets.

With 60% of Welltory users living with chronic conditions, Care groups people with similar conditions, physiological patterns and daily limitations, allowing them to collectively support research, expert guidance and tools tailored to their shared needs. For someone living with severe fatigue, even getting to a doctor’s appointment can require careful planning. Taking a shower the night before may be necessary to conserve enough energy for the appointment itself. Care brings together practical strategies from people facing similar limitations with personal data, research and medical expertise.

Welltory uses digital phenotyping, the ongoing analysis of wearable data and self-reported experiences, alongside age, sex, weight range and everyday limitations to identify people with similar profiles. The closer the match between participants’ needs, the more specialized the work can become while remaining useful to a whole group. Welltory’s scale makes it possible to assemble those groups around combinations of needs that a smaller audience might not support.

”Most health products are built for the average user, but chronic conditions aren't average experiences,” said Veranika Zdanovich, CCO of Welltory. “With 18 million users, we can bring together people whose physiology and daily limitations are unusually similar, then build research and tools around what that specific group actually needs.

Three months ago, Welltory launched its first Energy Lab group with 100 people experiencing post-exertional malaise (PEM). Strong engagement and encouraging participant feedback have led the team to plan an expansion to 500. Clinical outcomes are being collected through an IRB-approved study and will be published separately.

Welltory already has a connection to clinical practice, with more than 5% of users coming through doctors’ recommendations for stress management. A recent study in the Australian Occupational Therapy Journal also included Welltory among apps identified by occupational therapists for use with people living with chronic pain.

Welltory funds research and product development from its own resources, while the Braavo financing will primarily support growth and recruitment for Care.

“Welltory has been a long-standing partner of Braavo, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see the company continue to grow while staying true to its mission of helping people better understand and manage their health,” said Mark Loranger, CEO of Braavo Capital. “We’re proud to have played a role in that journey and to know that our financing helps support work that can ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of millions of people.”

The partnership also reflects Braavo’s broader approach to financing app growth. As user acquisition becomes more capital-intensive, Braavo continues to develop flexible financing structures designed around the economics of mobile app businesses — including acquisition performance, cohort-level returns and cash flow. By aligning capital with how app businesses actually grow and monetize, Braavo aims to give established companies greater flexibility to invest in user acquisition while preserving their own capital for product development, teams and long-term growth.

Over the next year, Welltory plans to develop Care groups for migraine, long COVID and chronic fatigue, and irritable bowel syndrome, with a target of 1,000 or more participants per group. Research will evaluate how the approach affects everyday wellbeing, while diagnosis and treatment remain with participants’ clinicians.
