There is more healthtech news published every week than any human can read. The trick is not reading more. It is choosing better filters.

I read obsessively for a living. These are the eight newsletters that actually earn their place in my inbox, what each one is best at, and who should subscribe.

1. Rock Weekly by Rock Health

The industry's reference point for digital health funding data. When people quote quarterly funding numbers, they are usually quoting Rock Health. Their quarterly recaps set the narrative for the entire sector.

Best for: Investors, founders and anyone who needs the market numbers first.

2. Out-Of-Pocket by Nikhil Krishnan

The funniest serious newsletter in healthcare. Nikhil explains billing codes, payer games and healthcare economics with memes and genuine depth at the same time. Nobody else makes claims adjudication entertaining.

Best for: Operators who want to understand how healthcare money actually flows.

3. Second Opinion by Christina Farr

A former CNBC health reporter turned investor, writing sharp analysis on digital health companies, exits and the gap between narrative and reality.

Best for: Founders and VCs who want reporting instincts applied to investment questions.

4. STAT Health Tech

Proper journalism on health technology, AI regulation and the business of medicine, from one of the best health newsrooms in the world.

Best for: Anyone who wants reporting with editorial standards, not takes.

5. Axios Vitals

Healthcare policy and business in the famous bullet-point format. Five minutes, and you know what Washington and the industry did yesterday.

Best for: Busy people who need the headlines with zero fluff.

6. Fierce Healthcare

Comprehensive coverage of health systems, payers and health tech, including one of the most reliable funding trackers in the industry.

Best for: People who need breadth: policy, hospitals, insurers and startups in one place.

7. Healthcare Huddle by Jared Dashevsky

Written by a physician, structured for skimming, focused on making the business of healthcare legible to clinicians and the clinical world legible to business people.

Best for: Clinicians curious about the business side, and business people curious about clinicians.

8. The HealthTech Signal

Yes, mine. Breaking healthtech news covering AI, startups, funding, research and MedTech, decoded by a doctor who moved into marketing and startups. No hype. Just signal. Stories like AI solving 18 medical mysteries and what everyone missed about the Isomorphic Labs raise.

Best for: You, hopefully. It is free, and you are already here.

How to actually use this list

Do not subscribe to all eight. Pick three. One for market data, one for depth, one for speed. Rotate quarterly and be ruthless about unsubscribing.

Information overload is not a badge of honor. It is a filter failure.
