High-risk AI systems (Annex III) apply

About this milestone

Article 113 sets 2 December 2027 as the application date for high-risk rules on AI systems classified under Article 6(2) and Annex III. Annex III covers many use cases adjacent to health and care, such as access to essential services. Providers and deployers of those systems face risk management, data governance, documentation, human oversight and conformity assessment duties from that date.
