Legacy MDR Class III and implantable Class IIb transition ends

About this milestone

EU transitional provisions for Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745 extend the period during which qualifying legacy devices may stay on the market under the prior directives, subject to conditions (no significant design/purpose change, QMS, notified-body application and written agreement). For higher-risk legacy Class III and most implantable Class IIb devices, that extended window ends on 31 December 2027.
